The most truthful speech is the Book of Allah , and the best guidance is the guidance of the Prophet Muhammad . [On the other hand ,] the worst actions are those that are newly invented [in the religion] since every new innovation is a deviation [from the true path] , and every deviation [ultimately] leads to the Hellfire . Brothers and Sisters in Islam , Allah has manifested Himself to His servants through His Book , [the Quran] in which He makes mention of His divine attributes . [Accordingly .] whenever Allah , the Exalted , mentions Himself [in the Quran and speaks about] His divine robe of awe , greatness , and majesty , people humbly submit to Him , and their souls are moved [by what they have heard of the verses of the Quran] .

And [out of awe for Him] , their voices become meek , and their pride dissolves away like salt dissolves in water . Moreover , when Allah reveals Himself through His beautiful names , and His perfect attributes and actions that demonstrate the perfection of His essence , the servant's heart is consumed with love , according to how much knowledge they have of Allah's beautiful attributes and perfect qualities . Thus , the servant's heart is filled with nothing but the love of Allah ; a love that is natural and true , and not a forced love .
And when Allah reveals Himself through His divine attributes of mercy , goodness , kindness , and benevolence hope is instilled in the servant's heart . Their aspirations rise , and their desire for righteousness is strengthened . As a result , they move forward towards their Lord with [renewed purpose] . This hope serves as a guide for their journey of life , and as it grows stronger , they become more determined to perform good deeds .

Their aspirations rise , and their desire for righteousness is strengthened . As a result , they move forward towards their Lord with [renewed purpose] . This hope serves as a guide for their journey of life , and as it grows stronger , they become more determined to perform good deeds .

Similarly , when Allah manifests Himself through His divine attributes of justice , retribution , anger , wrath , and punishment , one's inner evil self is subdued and suppressed , and its ability to indulge in sinful desires is weakened . Also , [one realizes that they should] not let their anger get the best of them , and that they should avoid unnecessary play and amusement in addition to keeping away from prohibited actions . The reason being is that a person becomes more cautious , and their fear , awe , and reverence for Allah increases .

Furthermore , when Allah reveals Himself through His divine actions such as commanding , prohibiting , sending messengers , revealing scriptures , and enacting laws , they instill in the servant the strength and will to obey and fulfill His commands . And as a result , they become more dedicated to promoting them , and remembering and reminding others of them . This displays their firm belief in the book of Allah since they abide by all its commandments and abstain from all prohibited acts mentioned in it .

[In the Quran ,] Allah , the Exalted , also manifests himself with the attributes of hearing , seeing , and knowledge . When He does this , the shyness of a person is brought out , and they become shy from their Lord . Shy from being seen by Him in a way He dislikes , being heard by Him saying what He dislikes , or hiding something that He detests . Subsequently , their actions , statements , and thoughts will be weighed against the teachings of Islam and not based on feelings and desires .

He , the Exalted , also manifests Himself with the attributes of being sufficient , looking out for the interest of people , giving them their sustenance , removing difficulty , and helping His friends and being with them . When He does this , it brings out the qualities of tawakkul , tafweed , and ridaa . That is , the qualities of relying on Him , turning over our affairs to Him , and being pleased with Him and everything that happens and what He decides for them .

Tawakkul , reliance on Allah , corresponds to a person knowing that Allah is sufficient and His choices for him are beautiful while also trusting Him and being pleased with what He decrees and decides . He , the Exalted , also manifests Himself with the attributes of Glory and Grandeur . When He does this , the tranquil soul submits to His might , humbles itself to His Glory , and lowers itself to His Grandeur . The heart and limbs submit to Him . Thus , calmness and dignity become apparent on a person , in their heart , on their tongue , and on their limbs . Additionally , their rashness and harshness go away .

When one recognizes their Lord witnessing the attributes of His Divinity , one ends up having some special qualities . [They will have] special love [for Allah] , longing to meet Him , happiness because of Him , familiarity with Him , delight in serving Him , competing in His nearness , gaining His love through His obedience , devotion to His remembrance , and running away from creation to Him . He becomes their sole purpose rather than anyone or anything else .

Whoever attains complete knowledge of their Lord - witnesses His divinity in His Lordship , and His Lordship in His divinity . They recognize His due praise in His sovereignty , His might in His forgiveness , His wisdom in His pre - destination and divine decree , His bounties in their afflictions , His generosity even when He withholds [a blessing from His slaves] , and His kindness , excellence , and mercy in all His affairs of governance . They witness His justice in His retribution , and His generosity in His forgiveness . They recognize His wisdom and bounties in His commands and prohibitions , His might in both His pleasure and wrath , His forbearance in His respite , His generosity when He turns to His servants [and their needs] , and His needlessness [of anyone or anything] when He turns away from them
