Hajj sign-up is now available for people who live in Saudi Arabia, according to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in the Kingdom. If you're a citizen or resident of Saudi Arabia and want to go for Hajj, you can sign up on the ministry's website or use the 'Nusuk' app on your phone or tablet. Priority will be given to those who haven't done Hajj before.
When signing up, you can choose to pay the full amount upfront or just a part of it. It's important to give correct information when registering and choosing your Hajj package. Also, it's not a good idea to use the same phone number for multiple sign-ups.
Hajj is a yearly trip to Makkah, a holy place for Muslims in Saudi Arabia. It's compulsory for Muslims who are physically able and can afford it to do Hajj at least once in their life.
During Hajj, people celebrate Eid al-Adha at the Grand Mosque in Makkah (Masjid Al-Haram). They pray and listen to sermons to honor the occasion. They also perform the Tawaf al-Ifadah, a ritual called the visiting circumambulation, which happens after the Day of Arafat.
In 2023, over 2.5 million Muslims went for Hajj after the COVID restrictions, which had been in place since 2020, were lifted.
