Remembering Sheikh Saud Ash-Shuraim: A Tribute to His Legacy

Sheikh Ibrahim Bin Saud Ash-Shuraim
He was a very famous reciter, known by everyone who loves listening to Quran recitations in this modern time. Sheikh Saud Ash-Shuraim became popular worldwide with his powerful voice and calm recitation style. For 32 years, from September 1991 to November 2022, he served as an Imam of Masjid Al Haram, dedicating himself to the Quran and the House of Allah.

Like many others, I grew up listening to Sheikh Shuraim's beautiful voice since I was a child. His voice would resonate in the markets of Makkah and Madinah, reminding people about the Quran. Even though we couldn't see him, just hearing his recitation was enough to make us love him and the Quran. Many, including myself, were inspired to memorize the Quran because of him. I created this page because of the memories associated with his voice and my early experiences performing Umrah.

I prayed behind him many times. The spiritual experience of hearing his voice echo through the Mataf and corners of the Haram is indescribable. It was a chilling moment, and you couldn't help but cherish every moment as if it were the first time you heard him.

When I heard about his departure a few months ago and recently noticed his absence from the Ramadan prayers, it saddened me deeply. Every time I enter the Haram, I remember his voice and name, knowing that it will never be heard there again.

Through his books, lectures, and, most importantly, his recitation of the Quran, Sheikh Shuraim has left a legacy that has touched millions around the world. We will continue to build on what he has left behind. Eventually, everything comes to an end.

May Allah reward him for his efforts and grant him the highest place in Jannah.
