Deputy President of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque stated that there are fake accounts pretending to be the imams of the Two Holy Mosques on social media. These accounts spread false information. The presidency will work with authorities to take legal action against these fake accounts. This is to protect intellectual property rights and decrease cybercrimes.
He advised people not to trust these fake accounts or the information they share. Instead, he urged everyone to check and verify information. He also recommended relying on the official accounts of the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.
