In Islam, peace of mind is referred to as "Sakinah" and it is considered as one of the blessings and rewards that Allah (SWT) grants to His servants who believe in Him and submit to His will. The term "Sakinah" is derived from the Arabic word "sukun" which means tranquility, serenity, and peacefulness. It is mentioned in several verses of the Quran, such as: 1. "It is He who sent down tranquility into the hearts of the believers, that they would increase in faith along with their [present] faith. And to Allah belong the soldiers of the heavens and the earth, and ever is Allah Knowing and Wise." (Quran 48:4) 2. "O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient." (Quran 2:153) 3. "Those who believe and whose hearts find tranquility in the remembrance of Allah. Indeed, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find tranquility." (Quran 13:28) Regarding Hadith, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "Verily, Allah has made for everything a way to attain its tranquility and peace. For every heart, the thing that brings tranquility and peace is the remembrance of Allah." (Narrated by Ahmad) Therefore, according to Islam, peace of mind can be achieved through constant remembrance of Allah, patience, and prayer. When one has a strong connection with Allah, they will be granted tranquility and inner peace, regardless of their external circumstances. More Of It... 1.
