19 Days Until Ramadan: A Time to Prepare Our Hearts...

Admin

As the blessed month of Ramadan 1446H draws closer, we find ourselves just 19 days away from the most spiritually uplifting time of the year. The countdown has begun, and with each passing day, our anticipation grows. But as we eagerly wait for its arrival, we must ask ourselves: Are we truly prepared?

Many of us have already started making lists planning meals, stocking up on essentials, and organizing our schedules to accommodate the long fasting hours. But Ramadan is not just about refraining from food and drink; it is a journey of the soul a time to cleanse our hearts, strengthen our faith, and seek Allah’s mercy.

Have we prepared our hearts for repentance?
Have we strengthened our connection with the Qur’an?
Have we forgiven those who wronged us and sought forgiveness from others?

Ramadan is more than a routine it is a lifeline. It is a chance to reset, to turn back to our Creator, and to rekindle the light of taqwa (Allah-consciousness) in our hearts. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:

"When Ramadan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained." (Bukhari & Muslim)

This is the season of change, the month when our souls crave closeness to Allah. It is the time when du’as are answered, sins are forgiven, and hearts are softened. But this transformation does not happen overnight. It starts now, before Ramadan even begins.

To make the most of this blessed month, let us begin our preparation today:

  1. Increase in Istighfar (Seeking Forgiveness): Purify your heart by seeking Allah’s mercy before Ramadan begins.
  2. Start Fasting Voluntarily: If possible, observe some Sunnah fasts in Sha’ban to get into the rhythm.
  3. Reconnect with the Qur’an: Begin reading and reflecting on its meanings to develop a stronger bond.
  4. Fix Your Prayers: Strengthen your Salah, especially Tahajjud and the Sunnah prayers.
  5. Give in Charity: Help those in need, for Ramadan is a month of generosity.
  6. Make Du’a: Ask Allah to grant you the ability to witness and benefit from Ramadan fully.

19 Days… Let’s Make Them Count!

Imagine standing on the first night of Ramadan with a heart already softened, a soul already awakened, and a mind already focused on Allah. Imagine welcoming the month without regrets, knowing you did your best to prepare for it.

Ramadan is not just another month. It is a gift from Allah a golden opportunity for redemption, renewal, and reward. Let’s not wait until the first day to start making changes. The countdown has begun, and the time to prepare is now.

May Allah grant us all the blessing of witnessing Ramadan in good health and strong faith. Aameen.
