His Excellency Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, the President of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, has officially approved the schedule for Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.

This announcement comes as part of the meticulous planning and organization to accommodate worshippers during the holiest month in the Islamic calendar.

Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers hold a special place in the hearts of Muslims around the world during Ramadan. These prayers provide an opportunity for worshippers to strengthen their connection with Allah, seek forgiveness, and immerse themselves in the recitation of the Holy Qur’an.

At Masjid Al-Haram, these prayers are led by distinguished Imams, who are carefully selected for their beautiful recitation and deep knowledge of the Qur'an. Each night, the melodious voices of the Imams create a spiritually uplifting atmosphere that touches the hearts of worshippers.

The approved schedule ensures that Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers are conducted in a systematic and well-coordinated manner, allowing worshippers to fully engage in their spiritual journey. Some key highlights of the schedule include:

  • Taraweeh Prayers: To be held immediately after Isha prayer every night throughout Ramadan. The Qur’an will be recited in parts, with the aim of completing the full recitation by the end of the month.
  • Tahajjud Prayers: To commence during the last ten nights of Ramadan, allowing worshippers to engage in deep supplication and devotion, seeking Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Decree), which is better than a thousand months.
  • Highly Revered Imams: Leading the prayers will be esteemed Imams of the Grand Mosque, known for their eloquent recitation and profound understanding of the Qur'an.

Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais emphasized the importance of ensuring a peaceful and well-managed environment for worshippers. Measures are being put in place to:

  • Manage the large influx of worshippers while maintaining order and discipline.
  • Ensure the best possible facilities, including cooling systems, prayer spaces, and security arrangements.
